Forty years of smoke and haze
A hospital visit, a turning phase
A poster caught my eye, a clinic’s aid
A phone number called, a new path made
Karolina’s voice, a gentle breeze
Compassion and patience, if you please
Encouraging words, a supportive guide
Helped me take the first step, to quit and thrive
Two weeks passed, and cigarettes laid to rest
Tobacco gone, my senses blessed
Taste buds awakened, breathing clear
Sleep improved, my body felt light and dear
A baseball cap, once stained with smoke’s dark stain
Thrown away, no longer a nicotine-tainted refrain
Vape in hand, a temporary friend
A stepping stone, to a smoke-free journey’s end
Now I’m free, with lungs that breathe
Happier, healthier, a new lease to seize
No more cigarette butts, on the ground
A cleaner world, a healthier sound
Thanks to Karolina, and the clinic’s care
I’m living more, with a life to share
A few more years, of life to gain
Smoke-free and thriving, I’m feeling no pain.
A heartwarming poem from our Be Smoke Free member David to sum up his quitting smoking journey.
